EA hammered by community for preorder charge
Electronic Arts has been heavily criticized recently for it's 5.00$ preorder fee on Star Wars: The Old Republic and it's general handling of Origin (EA's online marketplace). As many members of the community have pointed out, a preorder fee on digital download games is beyond irrational, because there is no "limit" in the number of copies EA can sell. In addition, several regions including Australia are excluded from preordering the game. This incident raises questions on how EA is going to compete with Valve's Steam service where preordering most games actually saves the user money.
